Giants trade up for WR Barden

Posted by ESPN.com's Matt Mosley NEW YORK -- In case you missed it,Portugal Euro 2012 shirts, the Giants swapped third-round picks with the Eagles to select Cal Poly wide receiver Ramses Barden (6-6, 229). The Eagles now have the No. 91 pick overall and No. 164 in the fifth round. Barden was incredibly productive at Cal Poly and averaged 25 yards per catch his junior season -- and that was with 57 catches! Obviously he was playing against inferior competition so it's hard to know what to expect. He didn't have a great showing at the Senior Bowl because he had trouble getting off the line of scrimmage in press coverage. He does a superb job on contested balls, but he is involved in too many contested situations because he can't get separation. This is one of thoseJerry Reese project players. He took tight end Kevin Boss in the fifth round of the 2007 draft,euro shirt, and that turned out pretty well. Barden won't make much of an impact in 2009, but he could eventually be a threat in the red zone.
